| Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897. Since our establishment, we have procured high-quality sherry casks from Spain and aged 100% in sherry casks.While modernizing our facilities and increasing our production capacity, we have increased our production volume to take advantage of the whiskey boom of the 1970s. Unfortunately, the distillery closed in 2010. In 2012, the current owner, Ian MacLeod, acquired the distillery and resumed production to create the best whisky, continuing the same policy and legacy from Tamdhu Distillery's founding. Of course, we maintain our tradition of aging 100% in high-quality sherry casks, and now, over 100 years later, we are still releasing the best Speyside malt using the same method. Aged in first-fill and refill American and European Oloroso sherry barrels, with a high proportion of first-fill barrels. The nose is creamy vanilla melting honey, the taste is summer orchard, distinct berries and sweet lemon peel candy, and the finish is elegant sherry oak with a lingering hint of fig on the tongue. |
