| Tamdhu Distillery was founded in 1897. Since our establishment, we have procured high-quality sherry casks from Spain and aged 100% in sherry casks.While modernizing our facilities and increasing our production capacity, we have increased our production volume to take advantage of the whiskey boom of the 1970s. Unfortunately, the distillery closed in 2010. In 2012, the current owner, Ian MacLeod, acquired the distillery and resumed production to create the best whisky, continuing the same policy and legacy from Tamdhu Distillery's founding. Of course, we maintain our tradition of aging 100% in high-quality sherry casks, and now, over 100 years later, we are still releasing the best Speyside malt using the same method. First fill & refill American & European Oloroso sherry barrels aged. The nose is rich and seductive, with chilled cinnamon rolls, warm orange sweetness, fresh sweet oak and raisins, and a hint of mint. The taste is like silk wrapping around your mouth, with banana, berry jam, malt biscuit, and the depth of classic sherry barrels. The finish is pleasantly long and balanced with ground spices, dried fruits, soft Scotch tablets (toffee) and a hint of peat smoke at the end. |
