| Among Glengoyne Distillery's official standard products, we would like to introduce the new batch 010 of Cask Strength, a popular product that was out of stock. Glengoyne Distillery is located on the border between the Highlands and Lowlands, near Glasgow. Founded in 1833, the distillery was built by George Connell. It was then acquired by Glasgow-based Lang Brothers in 1876, and in the 1960s became part of the major Edrington Group. Then, in 2003, Ian MacLeod acquired the distillery, and it continues to operate today as an independent distillery that does not belong to a major manufacturer. Even after Ian MacLeod acquired management rights, the style of whiskey that has been around since its founding has remained unchanged and has been passed down to the current staff. This cask strength is a non-ageing standard, and the barrels used in Batch 010 are a blend of first-fill American oak and European oak sherry casks, first-fill bourbon barrels, and refill oak casks. I tasted it, and the color was a deep golden color, the aroma was rich and nutty, cassis, cacao, and apple pie, the body had a vanilla sweetness to baked goods, walnut bread, and the rich taste of sherry barrels from the back, and the finish was hot. Bitterness lasts a long time. The color is deep, and the aroma is rich and complex, with a wonderfully balanced blend of sherry and bourbon casks, and a full-bodied, satisfying drink! Although it is non-aged, it has a mature feel and is an excellent official bottle. Official Tasting Notes - Aromas of fragrant green apple, toasted almonds, dried coconut, juicy black currants and ripe pepper; flavors of vanilla custard, crème brûlée & roasted pears, lemon peel, sherry oak and banana; a long, honeyed finish. & Citrus. |
