Authentic aged shochu with a rich and deep flavor

It has been more than 100 years since the company was founded in 1896, when the first owner of the company, who found water that was said to be rare since ancient times, set up a storehouse in this area.

From an early stage, we paid attention to aging by long-term storage of raw sake, which was considered to have little interest in the shochu world, and as a brewery that does not produce new sake, we are focusing on promoting authentic aged shochu with a rich and deep flavor. In order to establish this genre, we have worked hard day and night to make shochu.

Origin of brand

The event that can be said to be the origin of the name of the representative brand "Tanabata" is a traditional, gorgeous and heroic market held on July 7th of the lunar calendar (currently a Sunday close to August 7th of the new calendar) in Osato, Ichikikushikino City, Kagoshima Prefecture. This is the next Tanabata dance.

We use Tanegashima Purple Sweet Potatoes, which are grown by contracted farmers in Tanegashima, Kagoshima Prefecture, and are slowly roasted in a homemade charcoal pot.
