Cask Strength Edition 2023, the first limited edition product from Clydeside, a Glasgow distillery founded by Tim Morrison, owner of AD Rattray, has been released The first product released by Clydeside, a new distillery established in Glasgow, Scotland The limited edition "Cask Strength Edition 2023" has arrived and we would like to introduce it to everyone in Japan. The standard product “Stob Cloth”, which first landed in Japan in April 2022, is now on sale. This is a completely new distillery founded in 2017 by the owner of independent bottler AD Rattray. Approximately 150 years after owner Tim Morrison's great-grandfather John Morrison built Glasgow's Queen's Dock (a port area for loading and unloading large cargo ships), he built Clydeside Distillery there in 2017. Finally, we have released our first single malt, ``Stobcross''. Clydeside Distillery was built on the site of the so-called ``Pump House,'' which was a command center for ships entering and departing from the port. Tim Morrison's father, Stanley P. Morrison, got into the whiskey business nearly 100 years ago when he founded AD Rattray and began a whiskey brokerage. After that, he also acquired Chivas Brothers and others, and in 1963, he acquired Bowmore Distillery and launched Morrison Bowmore. His son, Tim Morrison, later bought back AD Rattray, which had been sold to another company, and began working as an independent bottler. In 2017, he established Morrison Glasgow Distillers to start making whiskey again and started operating the Clydeside Distillery. The water used for making the whiskey is 100% from Loch Catlin, which is about 60 kilometers away, and Loch Catlin was founded by his great-grandfather, John Morrison, as a reservoir that served as the source of tap water for the city of Glasgow. I did. The raw material, barley, is all procured from contract farmers in the Roland region, and fermentation takes approximately 72 hours. Although it belongs to the Lowland region, it is twice distilled, and is aged mainly in high-quality first-fill bourbon barrels, as well as sherry barrels and enriched bourbon barrels. The standard item ``Stobcross'' was named after the intersection near the distillery. While ``Stobcross'' is aged approximately 90% in first-fill bourbon barrels and the rest in sherry casks, this limited edition is aged in 100% first-fill American bourbon barrels and bottled at 60.6% cask strength. Did. The color is golden, the scent is cinnamon, vanilla, honey & almond, apricot kernel, the body is sweet with vanilla, cinnamon apple, pear and banana chips, and the finish is hot with citrus and slowly bitter. The gentle and soft taste of cinnamon and vanilla from Clydeside Distillery is preserved, and the cask strength gives the entire body a powerful finish that makes it a satisfying drink.
