| Established in 1836, Glenfarclas is one of the few remaining family-run distilleries. Glenfarclas means ``green valley'' in Gaelic. The distillery, located at the foot of the majestic Mt. Benrines, is in a privileged location where snowmelt water that has been purified over many years gushes out, producing unique single malt whisky. Glenfarclas has a strong smoky flavor due to peat, and is aged entirely in sherry casks, making it a typical full-bodied Highland malt with a rich flavor. The 12 year old is characterized by a refreshing sherry aroma and a peat smoke aroma. |
