tasting notes
Color: pure gold
Nose: An unmistakable sweet, warm mash aroma fills your nostrils, making you feel like you're standing in the courtyard of Bruckladdich Distillery. Biscuit-like soft malts lead to ripe apricots, peach, and honeyed pear, along with peat smoke and a variety of stone fruit sweetness. Candied lemon peel brings a hint of citrus that pairs beautifully with the butterscotch, honeycomb, chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
Palate: Delicate oak is immediately apparent, followed by the presence of smoldering peat. Undertones of gorse and honeysuckle appear over the malty Islay barley, creating a rich, luscious flavor that combines with creamy porridge and grain notes. The French oak composition and the sweet vanilla and toffee derived from the American oak combine perfectly to create a beautiful and harmonious balance on the palate.
Finish: An overwhelming presence of malted barley and earthy smoke, with a long, sweet barley sugar finish. Caramel and vanilla add the final touch to its rounded sweetness.
