Le Breuil is a French single malt distilled in-house by Château de Breuil, a prestigious company in Calvados.
Established in 1954, Chateau de Breuil produces Calvados in Pays d'Oges, which is said to be the highest quality area in the Normandy region of France.
``Tourbet'', which means peat in French, has a hint of peat in the exotic fruit.
Château de Breuil began distilling single malt in its Normandy location in 2017
Based on the concept of breaking away from the traditional French single malt, which emphasizes high production efficiency, for the first time in France, only the "Golden Promise" barley is used as the raw material, and the malting is "floor malting", preparation, and fermentation. From distillation using Charente pot stills, which were once used for Calvados, to aging in the cellar of the Château in Breuil, traditional manufacturing methods that emphasize quality over production efficiency are followed.
