Green Spot is a private brand Irish whiskey that is known to be difficult to obtain due to its limited annual production.
The name "spot" comes from the custom of applying paint to the barrels depending on the age of the barrel, and it is characterized by the use of unprocessed sake aged in Malaga barrels, which are the same ones used to mature Malaga wine.
It has an Irish fruity, easy-drinking, light and mellow taste, but Green Spot is a whiskey that is so easy to drink that even people who don't like whiskey can drink it straight.
The name "Green Spot" comes from the custom of applying paint to the barrels depending on their age, and the age-specific bottles that Mitchell & Son made until the 1950s were Blue Spot (7 years), Blue Spot (7 years), Four types were produced: Green Spot (10 years), Yellow Spot (12 years), and Red Spot (15 years).
It is a blend of unprocessed sake that has been aged for 7 to 10 years in bourbon barrels and sherry barrels, and has a sweetness with a fresh, fruity aroma of green apples and grapes.
