Honkaku shochu is a traditional Japanese distilled spirit with a history of 500 years.
Denbeigura, where it was founded, maintains the manufacturing methods of the Meiji and Taisho eras, using traditional wooden barrel stills to prepare and store jars.
The 500-year history of authentic shochu, which has been nurtured by Kagoshima's climate and natural features and the Satsuma people's temperament, is not only the passion of the makers, but also the culture of life supported by the taste of shochu lovers.
